The Beacon Pub : This former very popular public house public house has been allowed to run down, used as a cannabis farm and now been closed for a couple of years.
There is an application in to knock it down and redevelop it. Gary Craig, of Gary Craig Building services in Whitburn, is the architect behind the transformation which, if given the go-ahead, will see the apartments being spread between four and five floors as the building is on a slope.
Interestingly Mr Craig is the agent dealing with the application by UK Docks to extend their boatshed built without planning permission, not 100 yards away.
