Noise

It has been reported that when one rings South Tyneside Council about noise that you are likely to be told that no-one else has complained or some similar blandishment so a note has been circulated to a few people living in earshot and copied here.

When a complaint about noise is made in writing one gets get sent a ‘diary sheet’

There are a few flaws in this system, mainly that the initial complaint is not registered but one is given diary sheets for a 28 day period, and they go quiet for a bit and when the noise does start up again and you complain you are asked if you have completed the diaries and there is a good chance you haven’t or they have expired and thus the process is repeated and the second complaint does appear to be recorded either.

Result:- NO noise incidents are recorded.
