Enquiry 2: Slipway Development – River Drive.
Work on this site has recommenced in the last day or so and I am surprised as there is still an outstanding issue which I think has not been addressed.
The structural framework of slipway shelter on river drive had not been built to any plan seen and work on it has continued in spite of objections by local residents.
The Planning Office were still maintaining that the shelter was built to an authorised plan but I could see that it was not and wrote and told them so.
It was relatively easy to prove that the shelter was too wide as one did not need access to the site to measure the width (13m) and all the plans seen shows a planned width of 12.2m.
The height was more difficult as one could only estimate the height (about 18m) and there were conflicting accounts of the planned height. The only plan in the public domain however did show a planned height at the river end of 15.5m
